In every project, manufacturers focus on the high value items and that are their expertise as innovation, but innovation is not only linked with size of the items. Reason being low value bulk items may be available as customized product in the market and hence the designer ignores the importance of customized products, say fasteners.
The importance of specifying correct fasteners is the importance of the items / assembly and any product is the sum of the items / assembly. The competitive and dynamic nature of the modern market place drives the engineering focus towards innovative technologies viz. automotive industry targeting to reduce the weight of the vehicle and similarly in aviation sector, where the weight is most importance factor. Even a few grams of saving in weight has many advantages like use of Aluminum fasteners rather than steel or alloys, Plastic Fasteners in place of Aluminum and etc. this has the advantage of cost to the manufacturer as well as to the end user. Now, during design phase of a project, the manufacturer intention is the control the cost along with meeting the engineering standards & guidelines and practices. Now, the problems are the reduction of cost and ease of maintenance and this is only possible when the part counts are reduced and use of lightweight materials. Now, to gain advantage of these factors during design phase, OEMs need to involve the fasteners manufacturers as expertise from the initial design phase of the project to understand the application and the specific demand. Specifying correct fasteners that include the weight, cost, ease of installation and product standardization rather than use of custom manufactured fasteners could solve the issue of both the cost and the ease of maintenance of the machine / Equipment. Also, reducing the part counts minimize the bills of materials and simplify supply. Such marginal gain could represent a distinct advantage over the competition. Now, standardization of Fasteners relates to the application viz. Heavy Vehicles need durable Fasteners, Supercar concerned with weight factors, OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) concern with cost and ease of installation factors and etc. and can met these requirements when the standardization starts during design phase of the product as the Standardized fasteners offer huge cost saving to both the Manufacturers and the end user. Many industries like Military, Oilfield, Turbine & Power Generation, Chemical Refining, Marine, Aviation, Transport etc. prefer product standardization in most applications. Also, applying correct fasteners specification shall reduce the cost of removal of the scrap from the bins. Thus, the optimized fasteners selection offers many tangible benefits both the manufacturers and end-user.
Apart from above, there is another issue within the industries, where the fasteners are treated as low value bulk items and attentions are not given during installation as these are easily available in the market as customized product. The fasteners are tightened over torque that result reduction of not only design life of the fasteners but also cost implications in replacement of the parts failure due to over torque of the customized Fasteners and thus scrap increases in the bins. Hence, industries maintenance cost increases in replacement of customized fasteners and in removal of bins and even sometimes replacement of parts / components of the Machine / Equipment on account of failure of the fasteners.
The company aims the standardization of the fasteners along with complying the engineering standard to meet the requirement of the OEMs of the machine / equipment by specifying correct fasteners in terms of weight, cost, ease of installation and product standardization.
To adopt standardized approach rather than customized design of fasteners for each individual application during initial phase of the product design in Industries like Automotive, Aviation, Electronics, Mining, Nuclear, Oil & Gas, Power. Process, Rail, Renewables etc. and to get this, Engineering team of the company shall work in close coordination with various OEMs and Industries to offer engineering experts in Fasteners to gain equilibrium. Eg. Rather than fulfilling the requirement of 11mm and 9mm customized fasteners in a machine during design phase of a project, the company aim to produce 10mm fasteners and accordingly OEMs shall design fasteners hole dia. to accommodate the 10mm Fasteners by complying all engineering standards.
PRODUCTS
NAILS
A nail is used to fasten the two and more materials together. It is made up of a metal rod or shank, pointed at one end and a formed head at the other end. A nail is usually made of steel, although it can be made of Aluminium, brass, or many other metals. The surface can be coated or plated to improve its corrosion resistance, gripping strength, or decorative appearance. The shank diameter and length refer to the shaft part of the nail, called the shank, which is driven into the surface. The head is, of course, the top portion struck to drive the nail into the material. The head, shank, and point may have several shapes based on the intended function of the nail.
Several types of small nails are sized by length and wire gauge. The wire gauge used for nails is a particular version of the steel wire gauge. The bigger the number, the thinner the nail. Most nails have flat heads, smooth shanks, Diamond-shaped points designed for general use and make the nails easier to drive. Long diamond-shaped points help minimize splitting of the materials. Nails are designed to resist both pullout and shear, with shear strength determined mainly by the shank diameter and pullout strength affected by that and the shank's design.
The company is fully equipped with quality maintain and product producing equipment and currently producing 0.5-inch to 5-inch nail (06 Guage to 18 Guage) and that caters the need of the current market.
